EXCLUSIVE: Cruz Beckham was supported by his footballer dad David, Spice Girl mum Victoria, brother Romeo and sister Harper as he took to the stage with his band at the 2026 music festival

The Beckham family were out in force on Saturday as they supported Cruz Beckham and his band at Reading festival. The youngest son of 51-year-old David Beckham and 52-year-old Victoria Beckham is the frontman of an indie-rock band called The Breakers.
On Saturday, the band took to the stage at the Reading half of the weekend event – with the proud family looking on. While fans were out in force to watch The Breakers too, many saw their heads turn at the sight of former England player David and the other members of the Beckham’s clan.
David and Victoria and children Romeo and Harper put on a united front for Cruz and his band while the family continues to be estranged from eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham. And for those in the crowd, watching David and Victoria watching the show proved to be almost as thrilling as the main act on stage.
The crowds began to chant David’s name as he was spotted making his way towards the stage alongside his wife and kids and the smiling ex-footballer sung along to all the tracks.
Cruz and Harper were seen standing together elsewhere. During one poignant moment while Cruz emotionally sang “I don’t want to be like you, you try hard”, Harper was seen supportively rubbing her brother Romeo’s back.
Fans watched Victoria clapping at the end of every song – but noted that she didn’t sing along to the lyrics herself. One fan told the Mirror: “Victoria looked so distracted. Got to be sad having everyone but Brooklyn there.”
The eye witness continued: “I can’t believe it! I came hoping to see them and they’re actually here. Its so nice they’ve come to support Cruz because they didn’t have to.”
The Breakers are just one of the many bands to take to the stages at Reading and Leeds over the bank holiday weekend. With Glastonbury on a fallow year, the competition has been cleared for Reading and Leeds to be the biggest UK festival of the summer – with huge acts heading to the two cities to perform for hundreds of thousands of fans.
Charli XCX, Fontaines DC, Dave and Chase & Status are among the big names headlining the events – with Florence + The Machines and Raye joining the top billing line up. The acts switch between the two venues, Reading at Little John’s Farm on Richfield Avenue while Leeds at Bramham Park.
The 2026 event has also become notable for having a number of nepotism favoured acts in the line-up – including Cruz and his band as he is the son of Spice Girls legend Victoria and football star David. Gene Gallagher – the son of Oasis legend Liam Gallagher and All Saints icon Nicole Appleton – was also granted space to perform.
While Moses Martin, the son of Coldplay’s Chris Martin, and Violet Grohl, the daughter of Foo Fighter’s frontman Dave Grohl are also among the lineup. While Cruz was cheered on by his parents, sister and middle brother, eldest sibling Brooklyn was notable by his absence.
The Beckham family has been fractured since the marriage of Brooklyn to his wife, American actress Nicola Petlz. The young couple married in April 2022 and, at the time, it appeared they had a fairytale marriage.
But at the beginning of this year, Brooklyn unleashed a barrage of claims on social media where he accused his parents of manipulating his life, trying to turn him against his wife, and claimed his mother did something to him at his wedding that left him “uncomfortable and humiliated”.
In his astonishing tirade, the 27-year-old said: “For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.
“Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out. My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped.”
He went on to claim his brothers had been sent to “attack” him on social media, before: “they ultimately blocked me out of nowhere this last Summer”. And he also accused his father of rejecting the suggestion of a low key meeting to mark his 50th birthday last year.
Brooklyn commented: “He refused all of our attempts, unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner. When he finally agreed to see me, it was under the condition that Nicola wasn’t invited. It was a slap in the face.”
In the eight months since the explosive claims were made online, the family have continued to take subtle swipes at each other online and through the press. David told CNBC at the World Economic Forum in Davos in January that “children are allowed to make mistakes”.
