Supermodel Lara Stone, who was previously married to David Walliams, has announced she is undergoing treatment for breast cancer and has encouraged women to check their breasts
David Walliams’ ex-wife, Lara Stone, has announced she has been diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 42.
The supermodel, who was married to the Little Britain star, 55, from 2010 to 2015, shared the news on Instagram on Saturday, October 31. Lara admitted that the diagnosis came as a “huge shock” but she expressed deep gratitude for her early diagnosis.
The mother-of-two shared a post on the social media platform, reading: “Check your breasts. It could save your life.” She captioned it: “Since it’s still officially Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I wanted to share that I have recently been diagnosed and am undergoing treatment for breast cancer.
“This has obviously been a huge shock, and I’m so grateful to have found it early.

“I don’t often share my personal life online, but if this post will make just 1 person check their breasts, or make that appointment they’ve been putting off, it’s worth sharing. Please don’t ignore changes to your body.”
Lara shares son Alfred Walliams with her ex-husband. She also has a younger son, Bob, with her husband, property developer David Grievson.
In the comment section of Lara’s Instagram post, many fans wished her well and thanked her for sharing the news. “Sending love and healing prayers,” as another wrote: “So sorry, I have been through it and I know the fear first hand. Lean on people who love you.”
A third shared: “Well said – very brave and generous of you to share this with others for their good.” One more added: “Thank you so much for sharing this, Lara. I’m very grateful.
“Sending you love and positive energy. My mother had breast cancer and thankfully recovered. I had a scare myself last year, so I’m keeping up with regular checks. Lots of love xx.”
David and Lara began dating in September 2009, got engaged in January 2010 with a £100,000 Tiffany ring, and married four months later on May 16, 2010, at London’s Claridge’s Hotel. They welcomed their son in May 2013.
However, two years later they announced their separation. The former couple continue to share custody of their son. Lara went on to marry her new husband in 2021 after meeting him on Tinder in 2018. They welcomed their son Bob in 2023.
Last month, HarperCollins confirmed it has dropped the author’s backlist, meaning his existing books will be removed from sale – months after announcing it would no longer publish any new titles by him.
HarperCollins has published all 23 of his children’s books, beginning with The Boy in the Dress in 2008, as well as his short story collections and picture books. His hugely successful titles, including Mr Stink, Gangsta Granny and Ratburger, have sold more than 60 million copies worldwide, while six have been adapted for television.
