James ‘Tony’ Moffatt was an aerospace engineer who was killed in a plane crash earlier in April 2026. The crash took place in South Carolina, and now it has raised questions about whether his death was related to the deaths and disappearances of 11 other scientists linked to space and nuclear research. Moffatt was also a decorated veteran pilot and defence researcher. He was travelling with his wife, Leasa, who was 61, and their sons, Andrew and William, who were 30 and 28, respectively.

Their plane, a Mooney M20 single-engine aircraft, crashed in a wooded area near the Union County Airport runway on Friday, April 17, 2026. The family, hailing from Huntsville, Alabama, was travelling from the Raleigh-Durham area of North Carolina. They had stopped in Union County to refuel. NASA worked in Huntsville, Alabama, where Amy Eskridge lived and discussed the facility where they worked.” For the unversed, Amy Eskridge was also a UFO researcher who died in 2022 in Huntsville. The official cause of death was ruled as a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

However, what left fans shocked was a text Amy Eskridge sent to her friend before her passing. According to a Daily Mail report, she had a text exchange with a friend, which has cast suspicion on the case. A 2022 text, which is said to be from the UFO expert, revealed that she had warned her friend about her mysterious death. The text was quoted as saying:

“If you see any report that I killed myself, I most definitely did not. If you see any report that I overdosed, I most definitely did not. If you see any report that I killed anyone else, I most definitely did not.” 

Amy Eskridge had also allegedly levelled accusations of being harassed and intimidated so that her work would be derailed. A friend of the late UFO expert told the news outlet that Amy had told her, “Everything’s fine, Franc, I’m feeling okay. If anything happens to me – suicide or an accident – it wasn’t, it’s suspicious, treat it as such.” Amy’s death has come back into focus after the tragic passing of David Wilcock in Colorado.
