Dax Shepard’s personal life has often been a major topic of discussion among fans. Recently, Dax gave a rare insight into his past romance with Kate Hudson on an episode of his Armchair Expert podcast. Dax did not shy away from revealing that they would even make out all day long.
At present, Dax is happily married to his wife, Kristen Bell. His confession about his past romance with Kate has now brought attention to another long relationship that he had with Briegh Morrison before his marriage.
Dax Shepard thought he would never be in love again after his split from Briegh Morrison
In an episode of Armchair Expert, Dax Shepard brought out his ex-girlfriend, Briegh Morrison, to talk about their past and open relationship. The duo had dated for nine years before Dax started seeing his wife, Kristen Bell. According to the actor, their split was amicable.
Dax also confessed that his breakup with Briegh was manageable, but it had left him with a deep fear for quite some time. He claimed that he did not think he could love anyone in the same way that he loved her. In his words:
“The breakup was manageable, but I will say, for a while, I did think, ‘Well, I’ll never be in love with someone again in that way. I had a deep fear.’ I’m like, ‘Oh, I don’t think I’ll ever really feel the way I felt about Briegh with anybody.’ I was quite scared of that.”
After his confession, Briegh revealed that she too faced her own share of struggles after their split. She said that one of the hardest things was that she believed she would one day have kids with Dax Shepard. She said that they already had a house and she was also getting on in years, so kids were naturally something she saw in her future with Dax.
Dax Shepard agreed that after their breakup, he was “disoriented for a while.” He told his ex-girlfriend that he was very hopeful that she would find someone whom she loved a lot again. Indeed, Breigh later met and tied the knot with Brad Winderbaum, a production and development executive at Marvel Studios.
Meanwhile, Dax began dating Kristen Bell in 2007 and has been together ever since. He officially married Kristen in October 2013. He told Briegh that she and Kristen shared several similarities. He said:
“Something that you guys [both] have that I value so much is that I think you two, above any other people I’ve ever met, you have your opinions and your position, but you’re really able to listen to another point of view and consider it and integrate it. Neither of you guys are, like, stuck.”
During their conversation, Dax Shepard revealed how his wife’s outlook has evolved on his friendship with his ex. He claimed that when he and Kristen initially began dating, Briegh would still come over a lot since his mom was living at his house. At the time, Kristen found it “really wild” and told Dax that she was not friends with any of her ex-boyfriends. But the actor told her that he is not only friends with Briegh but almost all of his exes so far.
Dax Shepard shared that, over time, Kristen got super comfortable with his friendship with her. In fact, he reiterated that Kristen was at ease with him still maintaining friendships with his ex-girlfriends.
