Deepika Padukone To Make A Cameo As ‘Veronica’ In The Film, ‘Cocktail 2’, Amid Her Second Pregnancy

Deepika Padukone is currently living the best phase of her life. For the unversed, a few days ago, Deepika Padukone and her husband, Ranveer Singh announced their second pregnancy through a heartfelt post. Amid this, recently a Reddit post claimed that the much-loved actress might make a cameo in the upcoming romantic film, Cocktail 2, starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna. It is worth noting that Deepika played the role of ‘Veronica’ in the 2012 movie, Cocktail.

Will Deepika Padukone make a cameo in Cocktail 2?

Amid the buzz around the release of Shahid Kapoor’s Cocktail 2, a Reddit user, a while ago, claimed that Deepika Padukone was recently spotted at the Maddock office. Her appearance sparked rumours around her cameo in Cocktail 2. For the unversed, it was her role as ‘Veronica’ that turned her into a superstar. The note in the Reddit post can be read as:

“A few months ago, Deepika was spotted outside Maddock’s office. While everyone was speculating that she was being considered for Mahavatar, the truth is, she was being repeatedly requested to make an appearance as Veronica in the sequel. And she did give her nod and shot her portion somewhere around that time itself. Just can’t wait for Veronica to be back.”

Moments after the post went viral on social media, multiple users shared their excitement on it. While some felt the rumours were false, others couldn’t keep calm. One user commented, “Hope this is true, so excited for it varna i wasn’t even interested in the film.” Another user shared, “If Veronica’s there, Meera should be there too!” A third user stated, “Maybe now I’m interested.” A fourth user commented, “Hoping it’s true. I wanna see Deepika and Kriti in the same frame.” A user also wrote, “Veronica is pregnant and settled. Aisa dikhayenge.”

Deepika Padukone stole the limelight in Cocktail

For those who haven’t watched Cocktail, the 2012 movie followed the story of ‘Gautam Kapoor’, a fun-loving young man, ‘Veronica’, a bold and independent woman and ‘Meera’, a shy and sanskari girl, who is dumped by her husband in the beginning of the film. Eventually, ‘Meera’ and ‘Veronica’ become friends and start living together. Later, ‘Gautam’ enters their life as ‘Veronica’s’ boyfriend; however, it soon turns into a love triangle, when he falls in love with ‘Meera’. The second half of the movie focuses on heartbreak, sacrifice and strong friendship.

It is worth mentioning that after Cocktail, Deepika’s career took a major turn. Despite being known before the 2012 film, Cocktail brought her global recognition because of her amazing performance both as a confident and vulnerable girl in love. After Cocktail, Deepika Padukone went on to become one of the top actresses in Bollywood. 

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh announce their second pregnancy

A few days ago, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh shared a joint post on their Instagram handle to announce their second pregnancy in the cutest way possible. The power couple of Bollywood shared a photo of their daughter, Dua holding the pregnancy test in her cute little hands. The post instantly went viral. For those who do not know, Deepika and Ranveer’s first daughter, Dua was born in 2024.

It is worth mentioning that despite being pregnant, some reports claim that Deepika Padukone is continuing to shoot for the film, Raaka. Reportedly, Deepika has also shot a few action scenes amid her pregnancy. A few days ago, the makers of Raaka told The Times Of India:

“Everything is moving as planned. Deepika Padukone plays a crucial role in Raaka, and the shoot is unfolding seamlessly with great energy on set.”
