The Delhi High Court has given temporary relief to Karisma Kapoor’s children, Samaira and Kiaan, in the ongoing dispute over the assets of their father, late businessman Sunjay Kapur. The court has directed their stepmother, Priya Kapur, not to sell, transfer or handle certain assets owned by Sunjay for now. It noted that the estate should be protected and maintained as it is until the case is fully resolved.
Justice Jyoti Singh has issued the order while ruling on a request made by Samaira and Kiaan. They had asked the court to ensure that no one else is given any rights over Sunjay Kapur’s assets until the case is finally decided.
Samaira and Kiaan are currently in an ongoing legal battle with Sunjay Kapoor’s third wife Priya Kapur. The battle is over his personal estate. The children are asking for their rightful share as Class-1 heirs, saying they are each entitled to one-fifth of Sunjay’s assets, including both movable and immovable property. Sunjay’s mother, Rani Kapur, has also questioned whether the will presented by Priya after his death is genuine. For those unaware, Sunjay Kapur passed away in the United Kingdom on June 12, 2025, after having a heart attack during a polo match.
Justice Singh said that since there are doubts about the will, it is now Priya Kapur’s responsibility to clear those doubts during the trial. The court added that only after these concerns are resolved can the document be accepted as Sunjay’s final will. However, since the trial could take time, the court said the assets should be protected for now.

The court has stopped Priya Kapur from selling or making any changes to shares in three Indian companies. She is also not allowed to sell any artworks, move money from three bank accounts in two banks or use Sunjay Kapur’s foreign bank accounts.
