Director General of Police C.V. Anand launched a series of digital initiatives of TG-CID at the chief office here on Wednesday.

“The initiatives mark a significant step towards modernising policing in Telangana through technology aimed to make police services more transparent, accountable, efficient, strengthen public trust, equip police officers with better tools and standardised procedures to improve service delivery and investigative outcomes,” Anand said.

He said the five volumes of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) cover bodily offences, property offences, crimes against women and children, special and local laws, and other offences, helping investigating officers strengthen procedures, improve investigation quality and increase conviction rates in criminal cases.

Telangana police remain committed to citizen-friendly policing, transparency and continuous improvement in public service delivery. TG police established Citizen Feedback Centre (CFC) to obtain direct feedback from citizens who have recently availed of police services, including petitions, FIRs, e-Challan services, and passport verification.

Anand said the Bharosa software, a digital case-management platform developed for 35 Bharosa centres, tracks each survivor’s journey from registration to closure, covering counselling, medical, legal and rehabilitation support through a unified system. “Whereas the TG-CID https://cid.tspolice.gov.in/ is now available to the public, marking an important step towards the digital transformation and modernisation of the CID,” he said.

The DGP said the state police developed the Jail Release Surveillance System (JRSS) by integrating NIC’s e-Prisons platform with CCTNS. It enables automated release monitoring, SMS alerts to police stations and officers, statewide dashboards, AI-based analytics and comprehensive prisoner-search facilities to strengthen coordination. “Through automated data synchronisation and crime classification, JRSS strengthens investigative support, facilitates the identification of criminal networks, and promotes proactive, intelligence-driven policing across Telangana,” he added.

The Mobile Face Search (MFS) and the Face Recognition Systems (FRS) apps, an Android-based tool backed by over 9.8 lakh photographs, delivers facial matches in about 15 seconds, enabling rapid field verification and identification of suspects, deceased persons, unidentified bodies and missing persons.

DGP was accompanied by DG (L&O) Mahesh Bhagwat, DG (CID) Charu Sinha, ADGP Akun Sabharwal, IG (P&L) Gajarao Bhupal, DIGs—Narayana Naik and Parimala Hana Nuthan; and SPs—Vishwajit Kampati, Rupesh, Praveen Kumar, Mallareddy, Balakoti and Srinivas, among other senior police officials.
