Tamil star Dhanush has apologised to fans after thousands of people who had valid tickets were left disappointed at the audio launch of his upcoming film OM in Chennai on Friday. The event, held at Sairam Engineering College, attracted a much bigger crowd than expected, forcing the police to stop fans from entering the venue due to security concerns.
The audio launch saw the presence of the film’s lead cast, including Dhanush, Mammootty, Sai Pallavi and Sree Leela. However, the excitement surrounding the event soon turned into disappointment for many fans who had booked their tickets but could not get a glimpse of their favourite stars.
Reacting to the incident, Dhanush took to X and personally apologised to those who were turned away. Rather than pointing fingers at the organisers, the actor chose to take responsibility for what happened.
“It causes me great pain that thousands of fans, despite holding entry tickets, had to return home without being able to get inside. I do not wish to analyse whose fault this was. Instead, I take full responsibility myself and express my sincere regrets. It is my responsibility to ensure that such an incident does not happen again,” he wrote in Tamil.
Dhanush’s apology is likely to offer some reassurance to disappointed fans, who had turned up with tickets hoping to be part of the special occasion.
