PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD/WYZZ) — Elsewhere in the Missouri Valley Conference Bradley is looking strong on the first official day of practice. The Braves are coming off a 21 win season from a year ago, but they will be without leading scorer in guard Jaquan Johnson, who averaged 17 points per game last season and then transferred to Iowa State.
This year the Braves will be inserting Manual grad Dietrich Richardson into the lineup and head coach Brian Wardle says the 6’7 guard will play a big role running the offense this season.
“At the point guard position. He brings tremendous size and length at that spot. He’s done, had a really good offseason,” said Wardle. “He’s gotten stronger, has improved his three point shooting, and I think our fans should be really excited to see Dietrich and the player he’s starting to become on the court this year.”

I’m a pass first point guard,” said Richardson. “I like getting everybody involved, especially me getting everybody shots. If they feel good, I’m good.”
Bradley opens up the season on November 2 against Monmouth College.
