In a night where French savoir-faire met the golden hour glow of Tinseltown, Jonathan Anderson officially unveiled his first Cruise collection for Christian Dior last night. The hotly anticipated Dior Cruise 2027 show transformed the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) into a dazzling catwalk, proving that under the 41-year-old Northern Irish designer, the house’s Hollywood fantasy has entered a thrilling new chapter.

Anderson, who made history in June 2025 as the first designer since Christian Dior himself to oversee the entire house (menswear, womenswear, couture, and accessories), pushed the brand’s celebrity allure into overdrive. Set against the backdrop of LACMA’s newly opened David Geffen Galleries, the show blurred the line between runway and stage, with guests including Anya Taylor-Joy, Al Pacino, and Miley Cyrus seated among a fleet of classic automobiles as simulated fog drifted across the concrete.

For his Cruise debut, Anderson drew deeply on themes of cinema, California’s natural landscape, and vintage car culture. The evening opened with a triad of semi-sheer drop-waist dresses adorned with rosette embellishments, before moving into a wardrobe that styled models as actors, directors, and artists.

The collection was a direct homage to silver screen icons. Models emerged evoking the spirits of Marilyn Monroe, Sophia Loren, and Audrey Hepburn, wearing shimmering, fringed, and layered designs, off-the-shoulder silhouettes, and accents of ruffled scarves.

While Anderson has proven himself a master of silhouette (the taut peplum waists of his fall/winter 2026 show gave way here to casual robe coats and loose evening dresses), it was the tactile fabric work and vibrant palette that stole the show.

Anderson joined the LVMH-owned label in April 2025, debuting his menswear collection just months later before taking the helm at Cruise. Prior to Dior, he spent 11 years as creative director of Spanish luxury house Loewe. With this collection—a juxtaposition of vintage cars and vibrant, sunlit hues—he has captured the essence of Los Angeles as a city of contrasts, cementing his role as part of a new generation reshaping the luxury industry.
