EXCLUSIVE: Disney announce release date for Oasis Don’t Look Back In Anger film a day after the band’s 2027 tour tickets were completely sold out by fans
The Oasis film Don’t Look Back In Anger will be available to view on Disney+ from October 9 with fans also getting to see new unseen footage. The streamer announced their plans for the film today with fans having less than two weeks to be able to watch the documentary about the 2025 reunion tour.
And in an added bonus, Disney+ will also screen never-before-seen footage that includes material from the joint interview with Liam and Noel Gallagher, and full performances of songs ‘Wonderwall’ and ‘Slide Away’. Tracks D’You Know What I Mean? and Half The World Away will feature for the first time and be available exclusively to Disney+ customers.
Angela Jain, Head of Content, Disney+ EMEA, said “The great wait is over…as we now bring Oasis: Don’t Look Back In Anger to as many people as possible through Disney+, and to be doing it with exclusive unseen footage too, is so exciting for fans.
“The Oasis reunion has been one of our defining cultural moments of recent times. We have seen how the documentary has resonated with audiences around the world as they celebrate the power of Oasis and music through this evocative and moving reunion story.”
The film was made by writer and creator Steven Knight and directors Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, charting Liam and Noel Gallagher’s triumphant comeback following a row between them which lasted two decades and split up the band. It was one of the most anticipated rock ‘n’ roll comebacks of our time.
As previously revealed in the Mirror the film features extraordinary revelations including the fact Liam failed to show up to the tour’s final rehearsals in Cardiff the night before the comeback.
In the film brother Noel says: “We’ve got a chance here to change the narrative of the band. We have got a chance to fix all the sh*t that we have just let drift apart.
“The final run through, the night before the thing. Didn’t see him. Ohh.
“The next thing is one of the biggest f**king moments of our lives right. And he’s not rehearsed.
“I am like oh yeah? He turns up 20 minutes before the gig ‘alright, what’s the catering like?’.
Thankfully the legendary frontman didn’t let anyone down and showed why he was born to be a singer in the Welsh capital, even grabbing Noel’s hand as they went onstage in an iconic moment.
Noel added: “I am like how the f**k is this…what the f**k. And then he grabs my hand and I am like ‘what the f**k?’.
“And off he goes, sounding like he was 30 years young. Just rocked up and did it. And I am like ‘you absolute mad c***.”
Noel and Liam then conduct their first joint interview together in two decades and it is clear the tour has changed their relationship forever.
Noel says: “All the little things that used to annoy us about each other have suddenly all gone away, it’s not a power struggle anymore, we’ve come out now as equals.
We never used to text each much but now we text each other stupid videos like two mates would. We’re in contact way way way more often than we ever were.
“It was all forgiven without saying a word. I use this word to describe what he has been like, a word I never thought I would use to describe him, which is delightful.”
Liam says: “It feels like a weight has been lifted. We all said s**t that didn’t matter. I didn’t realise it was coming out of my mouth, half the s***. That’s the way it is. The music brought us back together. Oasis man. Oasis saves.”
Oasis split up in August 2009 after a huge row between Noel and Liam, who had been famous for their arguments and growing tension on stage. At the time, Noel said in a statement “I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer”.
