Dolly Parton’s sister, Freida, has denied there is a family ‘feud’ after Bryan Seaver was sacked from his role as security across the late country legend’s vast estate
Dolly Parton’s sister has addressed the ongoing family fallout. It comes after the late singer’s nephew, Bryan Seaver, was dismissed from his role as head of security across her estate.
Bryan had worked as head of security for his late aunt for over two decades and was specially chosen by Dolly to announce her death last month. But last week, it emerged that he had been served his notice, with Dolly’s long-term management instantly replacing his team with a new set of security officers at her Nashville home, as well as at the museum, downtown home, and warehouse.
He said he had been “dismayed” by the “unexplained actions” in the wake of Dolly’s death. Now, Dolly’s sister, Freida, has spoken out amid reports of a family feud.
Taking to Instagram, Freida, 69, said: “I’ll say this and this only: there is no feud within our family. No one among the Parton/Owens family is fighting over Dolly’s estate.”
She went on to add: “We all love Bryan, just as we all love each other. I love you all!!” Following news of his dismissal from his position, Bryan and his team hit out at Dolly’s long-term manager, Danny Nozell, and Pinnacle Bank.
However, they added that they have been comforted by the ongoing support and love for Dolly and her legacy. They added: “We remain unshakably resolved to fulfil her final directive to protect her family, and we refuse to be intimidated by those whose actions we believe are being taken in bad faith and with the intent to profit from the life of someone who willingly gave so much.”
The letter claims that Dolly’s professional business interests and property portfolio are held by the DP Dean Trust. Although Bryan has been released from his security duties, the letter states that his personal interest in the trust remains unaffected.
Dolly, who died aged 80 last month, had privately been battling cancer – and continued to put on a strong front for her dedicated fans. However, she had to withdraw from several planned events but filmed a video message for fans.
However, it has since been reported that the singer had flown on a private jet to Frankfurt, Germany, to undergo experimental treatment.
Sources claimed that she stayed in Frankfurt for a week before returning to Tennessee and that she felt her treatment had effectively restored her strength. Dolly’s sister, Stella, had previously disclosed that Dolly had offered to try experimental drugs during her treatment.
Paying tribute to the late singer following her death, Stella, also a singer, said on social media: “My sister was one of the most generous, thoughtful and kind people I’ve ever known. What the world saw is exactly who she was, so much so that she told me recently that if there was no hope for her, she would still allow her medical team to try experimental drugs in the hope of helping others in the future.
“My sister was always thinking of others, and if you want to honour her legacy, show more kindness, lift others up, and give more of your time and resources, as she continued to do to the very end.”
