Hyderabad:A special drive conducted by Food Safety Officers and enforcement squads across Telangana on April 16 found widespread sale of loose and non‑branded milk and ghee, along with regulatory violations.
Officials said 71 inspections were carried out, during which 91 samples were collected from various districts for laboratory analysis. Several milk centres were found operating without valid Registration Certificates, raising concerns over compliance and safety standards.
In Hyderabad, milk and ghee worth ₹7.78 lakh were seized for unauthorised operations. Authorities issued show‑cause and improvement notices to violators.
Samples collected during the drive have been sent for testing to check quality and safety. Officials advised consumers to prefer packaged products and verify FSSAI licence details before purchase to avoid unsafe or unregulated items.
