KURNOOL: Atmakur DSP Ramajinayak has landed in a controversy following allegations that he used abusive and threatening language against a youth from Kothapalli mandal in Nandyal district.
Saginala Suresh of Lingapuram village alleged that the DSP spoke to him in highly objectionable language over the phone and threatened to come to his village and kill him with a knife. The alleged audio conversation has been circulating on social media.
Suresh lodged a complaint with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan, seeking action against the DSP.
The controversy is linked to an earlier complaint concerning a case involving Srinivasachary of Veerapuram village in Kothapalli mandal. Srinivasachary’s wife, Sridevi, had complained to the Andhra Pradesh State Police Complaints Authority, alleging that Atmakur DSP Ramajinayak, CI Suresh Kumar Reddy and an SI had acted unfairly in the case.
According to the complainant, the Police Complaints Authority, noting that the matter was pending before a court, directed the DGP through the Home Department to withhold DSP Ramajinayak’s promotion.
Suresh later forwarded a copy of the authority’s orders to the DSP through WhatsApp. He alleged that the DSP became angry after receiving the document and verbally abused him.
Suresh, who had earlier supported Srinivasachary in the case, alleged that this was the reason for the DSP’s anger. The DSP, however, denied that the voice in the audio recording was his.
