DWTS pro Gleb Savchenko has been in the headlines after making serious accusations against his ex-wife, Elena Samodanova. The pro dancer has alleged that Elena tried to abduct their kids to China. According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Gleb has filed for an emergency child custody order for his two daughters, Olivia and Zlata. The filing comes after Gleb claims that his ex-wife has refused to send the kids back, as they had discussed before Elena’s move to Hong Kong. He alleges that the shift was supposed to be temporary and the girls were supposed to return to the US by June 30, 2024. However, that never happened, and now Elena is allegedly refusing to send them back.
The document revealed that Gleb has alleged that Elena signed a Post Judgment Agreement back in 2023 allowing her to “temporarily” move their children to Hong Kong for one year so she could work on a project in the region. However, she “obtained permanent Hong Kong residency, enrolled the children in an expensive private school, got the children a cat, became engaged, and had another child with her fiancé.” He added:
“This has functionally forced me to travel to Hong Kong each year to visit my children, which I have consistently done despite Elena’s efforts taken to drastically limit my access to our daughters.”
Gleb has now requested the court for “temporary sole legal and sole physical custody” of their 15-year-old daughter Olivia, with no visitation from Elena, pending further court involvement after a scheduled hearing. This is because, “Olivia does not want to be in the position of having to confront her mother considering Elena’s recent abusive comments to our daughter, including that she is a ‘disgrace’ to the family and other disparaging comments.”

Talking about what led to Gleb and Elena’s divorce, the latter had alleged that her then-husband had several affairs during the course of their marriage. She even accused Gleb of leaving her with no income and even having a falling out with one of his longtime friends on the dance competition show. However, soon after, Gleb spoke to ET and revealed his side of the story, which was completely different from Elena’s.
Gleb alleged that things went south between them in early 2020, when he felt like Elena was “constantly” lying to him about her whereabouts. He alleged that she would “show up at [the house] at 4 a.m. completely drunk.” He further accused Elena of being unfaithful, claiming that there were pictures of her making out with former DWTS troupe member Vlad Kvartin in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
Gleb even alleged that he suspected something was going on between Elena and Vlad, especially after he was approached for DWTS Russia. He recalled how Elena got Vlad to go in his place because he was on tour, as a favor, only to later take his spot. He revealed that the makers called him saying, “Listen, we actually decided not to take you. You’re too expensive for us, so we’re gonna go with Vlad. And because Elena suggested it, and she says he’s as good as you are.'”
Gleb said this was the breaking point in their marriage, as Elena had “literally taken a gig from our family and given it to somebody else?” She even spent time in Russia with Vlad and only returned after he was eliminated. Gleb even claimed that Elena was jealous of him after she didn’t make the cut for DWTS in 2013, and would claim “that she choreographed all my numbers and everything, and I would be like, ‘OK, fine. I’ll give it to her.’ But it wasn’t true. I always did all of the job.”
He confirmed that he never cheated on Elena. However, he had to leave because he was feeling extremely depressed in their relationship. He recalled what Elena said to him and was quoted as saying:
“Elena told me, ‘After this divorce, I’m gonna skin you. I’m gonna take everything you have, even your kids, and make you walk back to Russia where you come from.’ Those were her exact words. She wants me to lose my job. She wants me to lose everything, because she’s just very jealous and she cannot stand the fact that I finally found the inner strength to say, ‘Enough.'”
