EastEnders star Danny Walters has revealed that he is now engaged to his long-term girlfriend and he popped the question during a romantic proposal on the beach
EastEnders star Danny Walters is engaged to girlfriend Maddi Faircloth. The actor, 33, has been in a relationship with Maddi for five years and has now revealed they are set to tie the knot.
The soap star, who played Keanu Taylor on the long-running BBC serial, took to social media where he shared a romantic snap of himself of Maddi on the beach.
He wrote alongside the post: “Guess you’re stuck with me now” and thanked the team at the hotel “for making this a special night to remember”.
Danny was inundated with messages of congratulations from his former EastEnders co-stars. Aaron Thiara, who plays Ravi Gulati, said: “Beaming for you both brother.”
Danielle Harold, who won an NTA for her portrayal of the tragic Lola Pearce before going on to compete on I’m A Celebrity, said: “Ahhh so beautiful congratulations to you both.”
Whitney Dean actress Shona McGarty and Mazz Murray, who is best known for starring in West End musicals Mamma Mia! and We Will Rock You but appeared as Cleo Marshall earlier this year, left heart emojis in the comments section.
During his time on EastEnders, Danny was key to several high-profile storylines, including his affair with Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean). He was eventually killed off as part of The Six whodunnit, and it was revealed that Linda Carter had stabbed him with a meat thermometer.
In March 2025, Danny and Maddi had welcomed their first child together. Posting an adorable picture of his newborn daughter’s hand, Danny captioned it: “One month with you, Autumn. Born March ’25 (sic)”.
“Messages of congratulations have flooded in from Danny’s celebrity friends, including EastEnders alum Dianne Parish, who portrays Denise Fox. She commented: “Ah wow! Congrats to you all Danny. (sic)”.
Danny played Keanu on EastEnders from 2017 until 2022 until 2024 but initially found fame on the ITV sitcom Benidorm. From 2014 until 2017, he played Tiger Dyke, the son of Tonya Dyke (Hannah Waddingham).
He has also appeared in an episode of Our World War and an episode of Call The Midwife. Maddi has also had her taste of television, as she appeared on the reality series Shipmates in 2018.
