Rivals star, 36, has confirmed she’ll tie the knot this autumn after her mum, actress Kate Robbins, let slip the big day would take place later this year

Emily Atack has revealed when she will be walking down the aisle in what is set to be a star-studded three-day celebration.

The Rivals star, 36, confirmed the date of her wedding to Dr Alistair Garner for the first time after her mum, actress Kate Robbins, 67, let slip the big day would be taking place “later this year”.

Now Emily has gone one step further and named the month she’ll be saying “I do” to her fiance. Speaking about the wedding planning, Emily revealed: “I think I’ve nailed it. We’re getting married in September. I’ve very much enjoyed the planning process. Choosing napkins and stuff. I’m like, ‘My God, my life is here!'”

Emily and scientist Alistair, 40, announced their engagement in July last year, almost 12 months after welcoming their son Barney in June 2024.

The couple have been eyeing up Spain as their wedding destination, with Emily revealing her deep connection to the country. “I loved my family holidays there when I was growing up.

“We had a property there, and my dad sold it a couple of years ago, but it’s our favourite place, and we still go every year,” she said previously.

Earlier this month, her mum accidentally revealed the wedding would be this year when she joked about Kim Kardashian’s Met Gala outfit being her “mother-of-the-bride” ensemble.

In a new interview with Luxury London magazine, Emily, who shot to fame in The Inbetweeners, also opened up about what she’s learned about herself since becoming a mum.

“I think it’s helped me understand who I am as a person and what I like about myself,” she explained. “I don’t want to change too much; I want to enhance those things so that I can be the best possible mum to Barney.”

Emily and Alistair have known each other since childhood, with his late father having been married to her aunt. After reconnecting as adults following a 12-year gap, they began dating in 2022.

The actress also addressed the pressures of fame, admitting celebrity life comes at a cost.

“There seems to be a bit of a blurred line about what people think you should expect when you’re famous,” she said. “I’ve developed a very thick skin, but there have been days when I just wanted to pull the duvet over my head. I’m still a human being, yeah? Things hurt me.”

But Emily isn’t shying away from her status. “I feel like ‘famous’ has become a dirty word. People don’t want to admit they’re famous,” she said. “I’m a hard worker, I’m a grafter. If that has led to a certain level of fame, then I’ll wear it – ‘Yeah, I am bloody famous!'”
