VIJAYAWADA: The AP JAC Amaravati on Sunday warned that government employees may be compelled to launch an agitation if the Andhra Pradesh government continues to delay the appointment of the 12th Pay Revision Commission (PRC) Commissioner and the announcement of Interim Relief (IR).
At an extensive state executive meeting held in Vijayawada, attended by representatives of various employees’ associations, district JAC leaders and women’s wing members, employee leaders expressed strong dissatisfaction over the prolonged delay in addressing key financial demands.
JAC chairman Bopparaju Venkateswarlu said employees had been patiently waiting for action after Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu assured union leaders in October 2025 that the PRC issue would be personally addressed. However, with no progress on either the appointment of the PRC commissioner or the release of IR, employees were increasingly frustrated. He announced the formation of a coordination committee to prepare an action plan and hold consultations with other major employees’ organisations.
General secretary Palisetti Damodar Rao said soaring prices and mounting financial pressures were severely affecting employees’ families. He demanded immediate pay revision, payment of surrender leave arrears pending for four years, and a roadmap for clearing PRC and dearness allowance (DA) dues. He also sought transparency by displaying all pending dues in employees’ salary slips.
The meeting noted that employees have been awaiting the benefits of the 12th PRC from July 1, 2023, and criticised the government for not appointing a new PRC commissioner even two years after the previous incumbent resigned. Leaders also pointed out that Telangana employees have been receiving 5 per cent IR since October 2023.
Among the resolutions passed were the immediate appointment of the 12th PRC commissioner, release of IR, clearance of DA arrears, restoration of pension benefits, extension of child care leave to two years for women employees, full implementation of the Employees Health Scheme, and fulfilment of promises made to government, contract and outsourcing employees.
