Hyderabad: Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju on Thursday asked officials to prepare an action plan to increase exports from the state by addressing issues faced by exporters, strengthening infrastructure, exploring new international markets and implementing export-friendly policies. He said Telangana had recorded exports worth Rs 1.22 lakh crore during 2025-26 and had immense potential, particularly in the agriculture, horticulture, poultry, vegetable seeds and red chilli sectors.
Chairing the State Export Promotion Committee (SEPC) meeting here, Chief Secretary Jaju stressed the need for coordination among government departments to promote exports from industries, manufacturing units, agriculture, food processing, pharmaceuticals, handicrafts and IT-enabled services.
Sanjay Jaju instructed officials to prepare a detailed roadmap focusing on export growth, removal of bottlenecks faced by exporters, development of logistics and other supporting infrastructure, identification of new overseas markets and implementation of investor- and exporter-friendly initiatives. He also emphasised the importance of strengthening coordination with the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) under the Union government to further accelerate Telangana’s export performance.
The Chief Secretary said coordinated efforts by all stakeholder departments would be crucial for unlocking the State’s export potential across key sectors and ensuring sustained growth in overseas trade.
The meeting was attended by special chief secretary for tourism Vani Prasad, finance secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania, agriculture secretary Surendra Mohan, special secretary for industries and commerce Krishna Aditya, transport commissioner Ilambarthi, special commissioner of information and public relations G. Mukunda Reddy, IT department joint secretary Anudeep, industries director Nikhil Chakravarthy as well as representatives of export promotion organisations and industry.
