Chennai: AIADMK leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami won his Edappadi seat by 98,100 votes, the highest in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. The newly-formed Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) demonstrated strength as P. Saravanan clinched the Shozhinganallur seat by 96,370 votes and M.L. Vijayprabhu Madhavaram by 94,985 votes.
The lowest victory margin in the state was recorded in Paramathi-Velur, where AIADMK candidate Sekar S. of managed to scrape through by 308 votes. The other tight contests saw AIADMK’s Ravimanoharan K. winning Palani by 693 votes and in Kumbakonam TVK’s Vinoth winning by 679 votes.
