ESPN analysts project Raiders to land big body receiver

The Raiders’ wide receiver room needs all the help it can get.

In a list of hypothetical trades that could happen this offseason by ESPN, the Raiders could be in the mix to land Keon Coleman from the Buffalo Bills.

The asking price for the Raiders wouldn’t cost them much, as the proposal has the Raiders sending a 2028 fifth-round pick that would land them Coleman and a 2028 seventh-round pick.

After being taken with the 33rd pick in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft, it’s been an underwhelming and frustrating beginning for Coleman’s NFL career.

Standing at 6 feet 4 and weighing 215 pounds, Coleman has all the measurables to make him a successful big body receiver.

Unfortunately for him, he has yet to eclipse over 600 receiving yards, and has not even sniffed having over 10 touchdown receptions.

When he was in college, he had a breakout sophomore season while at Michigan State, racking up 798 yards and 7 touchdowns.

The next year, he transferred over to Florida State and had a career high of 11 touchdowns.

Since he’s been in the NFL, Coleman’s struggles have entailed separation on route running and catching the ball.

His rookie year, he had 29 receptions with 57 targets. Last season, he was targeted 59 times but only had 38 receptions. Almost a 10 catch difference between his first two years indicates improvements are being made when it comes to catching the ball.

But in his second year, the yards went down from 556 in his first year to 404 last season.

As it currently stands, the Raiders’ receiver room is very thin, with Jalen Nailor and Jack Bech set to lead the way.

It’s unknown who the Raiders’ starting quarterback will be when they open the season against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, September 13. It could be 15-year starting quarterback Kirk Cousins or reigning 2026 No.1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza

For Mendoza’s development, having a receiver like Coleman could certainly help him and his development, as he would have a big target he could rely on.
