The Skyline Chili Crosstown Shootout between Xavier University and the University of Cincinnati won’t be played at Fifth Third Arena for another 10 weeks, but the two rivals are still going into an offseason battle on the recruiting trail.
According to Joe Tipton of On3Sports, four-star guard Joshua Tyson will pick between UC and Xavier on Friday, Sept. 25.

Tyson went on his official visit to Xavier in July and visited the Bearcats last week. His offer sheet includes over a dozen Division I programs.

Tyson is a former Lakota West High School standout who announced he was transferring to La Lumiere School in Northwest Indiana this summer. Last year, Tyson was named the Greater Miami Conference Player of the Year after helping lead Lakota West to a 24-2 record and a Division I regional final appearance.

Tyson averaged 16.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game for the Firebirds.
According to 247Sports, Tyson is the No. 4 player in Indiana for the Class of 2027 and a top 15 point guard in the nation.
