Ramayana is just a few weeks away from its theatrical release, and the buzz is all about the project. From the visionary filmmakers and the star-studded cast to the international collaborations, the scale of the ambition is massive, and the heart can be seen in the recent trailer and music reveals.

Addinath M. Kothare is one of those stars who will be bringing to life an important character from the epic, Lord Bharat, who is the younger brother of Lord Rama. During an exclusive chat with Filmfare, Addinath opens up about the filmmaking process and how the team’s efforts made the jobs for the actors much more seamless.

He began by speaking about the grandeur of the project and how important the epic is. Addinath said, “Ramayana is an international project, and international talent is involved in it. The length of the story, the scale of the story, is different. We are recreating something that is embedded and etched in our hearts. We have grown up on values of those characters.”

He continued to pay praise to the director of Ramayana, Nitesh Tiwari, and the dedication behind bringing a project of such a scale to reality. He continued, “Nitesh sir! We felt like we were in Ayodhya at that time. It was all there. They created everything around you, including your attire. It’s a very immersive process.”

He added to this, stating how a smooth filmmaking process makes acting much simpler. “It is very beautiful to work with such passionate makers because, for an actor, 50-60% of the job is already done. You just have to be in the character and in the moment and experience it.”
