Madhuri Dixit and Anil Kapoor have starred together in several films that went on to become iconic titles in Hindi cinema, including Tezaab, Beta, Ram Lakhan, Pukar, Khel and Jamai Raja. Their on-screen chemistry continues to remain one of the most loved pairings in Bollywood even decades later. The actress is currently seen in Maa Behen, and during the trailer launch event of the film, she was asked whether she would reunite with Kapoor on screen again. The mere mention of the possibility left the audience cheering loudly.

During an exclusive conversation with Filmfare, the Beta actress revealed that while she would love to collaborate with Kapoor again, the project would need to match the legacy they have built together over the years.

Speaking to us, she said, “We’d love to do a movie together, but it has to be a great script. That’s very important. It has to be mounted wonderfully because we have a legacy and we have to live up to that. So, the subject has to be good and everything has to fall into place.”

Recently, during a special screening of Maa Behen, Madhuri Dixit and Anil Kapoor posed together on the red carpet, once again fuelling fans’ excitement and calls for a reunion film featuring the iconic duo.

Meanwhile, when asked whether there was anything she missed about the 90s era of filmmaking, Madhuri shared that she actually believes things are much better for actors today because of the comfort and support systems available now.

She explained, “Things are much better now for actors. We are more comfortable, we have our vanity vans…We have so many people around us all the time, we have our digital teams and we have so many teams working with us. Everything is taken care of. We also have bound scripts with dialogues and everything. What more can you ask for? It’s a very comfortable and great time.”

Maa Behen, starring Madhuri Dixit, Triptii Dimri, Dharna Durga, Geetanjali Kulkarni and Ravi Kishan, is streaming on Netflix.
