Need to know
Bargain expert Jordon Cox explained when you should – and shouldn’t – visit the budget supermarkets
Need to know: the days you should never go shopping at Aldi and Lidl
- A shopping expert has warned bargain hunters they should avoid visiting Aldi and Lidl on certain days of the week.
- Jordon Cox, known as Couponkiduk on Instagram, revealed that Thursdays and Sundays are the best days to shop at either budget supermarket, as that is when the middle aisles are restocked with new items.
- He explained: “You’ll have first dibs at the best discounts and limited-time items if you go then. Some Specialbuys only have a few items of stock per store – so they fly!”
- Cox warned that shopping on Wednesdays or Saturdays is a mistake, as most of the coveted Specialbuys and Middle of Lidl deals will have already sold out by then.
- Not everyone agreed with his advice, however, with some shoppers preferring to avoid busy weekends altogether, while an Aldi worker suggested that the final day of a promotion can be a great time to shop, as leftover items are marked down to next to nothing.
