Vijayawada: Farmers from Rayapudi village in the Amaravati capital region, who recently handed over their lands to the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) as part of the capital city development programme, met Union Minister of State Dr Pemmasani Chandrasekhar at his camp office in Kolanukonda on Sunday and sought redressal of several pending issues related to land pooling and layout planning.
The farmers expressed their gratitude to the minister for responding positively to their concerns and extending support in resolving issues arising from the capital region development process.
During the meeting, they brought to his notice several matters concerning the allocation of commercial plots, road access-related plug-in issues and certain layout-related concerns. The issues pertain mainly to farmers from Rayapudi who did not participate in the first phase of Amaravati land pooling but have now contributed their lands for the development of the capital region.
Dr Pemmasani assured the farmers that he would take up their concerns with CRDA officials and the CRDA Commissioner and make efforts to secure a favourable resolution. He said the legitimate grievances of the farmers would be placed before the authorities and pursued until a satisfactory solution is found.
The farmers informed the minister that they had voluntarily handed over their lands to the state government in the larger interest of Amaravati’s development and thanked him for his continued engagement with their issues. They also highlighted several development-related matters specific to the Rayapudi area and sought his intervention.
Responding to their representations, Dr Pemmasani reiterated that the coalition government remains committed to safeguarding the interests of farmers and ensuring justice for them. He assured the delegation that he would continue to work towards resolving their concerns and securing fair treatment for all affected land contributors.
