Hyderabad: Flies were noticed near food items due to lids not being closed during an inspection carried out by a food safety team of Cyberabad Municipal Corporation at Sattibabu Biryani in Kondapur here on Saturday.
Proper labelling was unavailable on sourced ghee. The team asked the food handlers to keep food items covered at all times and instructions were issued to procure and maintain properly labelled food products.
The team has also found food handlers using hairnets, gloves, and aprons, apart from maintaining expiry and use-by dates properly. Medical fitness, pest control, and water testing records were available
The FOSTAC-certified food safety supervisors were deployed and proper segregation of veg and non-veg items were ensured and fly catchers were installed. Meat was properly cleaned, wrapped, and stored and vendor licenses were maintained for food materials.
Officials said that the establishment demonstrated a high level of compliance with food safety standards, with minor observations communicated for immediate rectification
