The Florida State Seminoles currently have three commitments in their 2028 class, which ranks No. 9 in the nation. However, they don’t have any blue-chip players at the moment, but one has named them on an exclusive list of suitors.

2028 four-star running back Dalen Powell has listed FSU as one of his top 10 schools, per Hayes Fawcett of Rivals. The other nine are the Miami Hurricanes, Alabama Crimson Tide, LSU Tigers, Florida Gators, Ole Miss Rebels, Arkansas Razorbacks, Nebraska Cornhuskers, NC State Wolfpack, and Kansas State Wildcats.

Powell is the No. 9 overall recruit nationally and the No. 5 running back per Rivals industry rankings. In the state of Louisiana, he’s the No. 1 prospect.

Back in March, Powell received an offer from Florida State. He came to Tallahassee for a camp in June, and with him mentioning the Seminoles in his top 10, they need to set up a return trip as soon as possible.

Powell was very productive as a sophomore in 2025 with 1,156 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns plus 18 receptions for 239 yards and three scores before missing the state playoffs with a leg injury. His cumulative stats as a junior aren’t listed, but he ran for 271 yards and five touchdowns in the season opener as Ruston High School beat Neville 42-16. He also had a two-game stretch this season where he racked up 451 rushing yards and nine touchdowns.
