Hyderabad: Cyberabad Municipal Corporation food safety teams on Wednesday suspended the FSSAI licence of Zayaka Food Court near AMB Mall after finding multiple hygiene and safety violations, including rat infestation and droppings in raw materials. Officials reported storage of food in a non-functional freezer, stale chicken biryani, spoiled vegetables, rat burrows and rodent damage to packaging. Inspectors also found improper segregation of food, egg mayonnaise stored under unsuitable conditions, and missing medical fitness and pest control records. In the hygiene assessment, the establishment scored just 25 out of 100 marks.

Man killed in Shamshabad hit-and-run case

Hyderabad: A 55-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run accident near the Thondpally railway bridge on NH-44 under Shamshabad police limits on Wednesday. The deceased, Md Zulfakar Ali, a material supplier from Udemgadda, was returning home on his scooter after work in his native village Veerapur, Vikarabad district. Police said a vehicle travelling from Shadnagar towards Shamshabad hit the scooter from behind, throwing him onto the road. He suffered a severe head injury and died on the spot. According to a complaint lodged by his son Mohammed Umar, the driver fled without stopping.

117 expert posts open in TGWREIS CoEs

Hyderabad: The Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TGWREIS) has invited applications for 117 subject‑expert posts in its foundation, sports and district centres of excellence (CoEs). Applications are open until June 30, with the written test scheduled for July 12.

Candidates must download the form from the society’s website and submit it in person with documents at the state office in Saroornagar between June 25 and June 30, including holidays. Applicants must specify the CoE post sought.

Written‑test merit will decide the shortlist in a 1:2 ratio, followed by interviews and demonstration classes. Separate papers will be held for District CoEs and Foundation/Sports CoEs. The notice said appointments are on a “temporary (honorarium) basis” and may end without notice, with vacancy numbers subject to change.

Posts cover IIT‑JEE, NEET, CMA, CLAT and UPSC coaching. Foundation and Sports CoEs have 50 vacancies, while District CoEs have 67. Subject‑wise, Mathematics has 21 posts, Physics 18, Chemistry 15, Botany 22, Zoology 26, CMA five, CLAT four and UPSC six.

Selected candidates must work at allotted colleges from 8 am to 5 pm. District CoE faculty will receive ₹250 an hour, capped at ₹32,500 a month, while Foundation and Sports CoE faculty will receive ₹650 an hour for up to 7.5 hours a day. Eligibility requires an MSc in the subject with first division and at least five years’ teaching experience for JEE and NEET posts. CMA and CLAT applicants need five years of experience, while UPSC applicants require at least three years.
