Food Safety Raids: Unauthorised Unit Seized, 6 Kg Khova, 1,000 Kg Curd Seized

Jawaharnagar police raided an unauthorised unit near Padmashali Township following credible information and seized six kg of khova and 1,000 kg of curd allegedly kept without labels or expiry dates.

According to the police, the duo are identified as Lakshmaiah of Sainagar, Kushaiguda, and driver Ramachander, were taken into custody during the raid. Officials also seized a vehicle and a wiring machine from the premises.

The unit was being operated without the required permission and had been functioning for the past three months. During the inspection, police found khova and curd stored at the premises without labels and expiry dates. The officials questioned Lakshmaiah, who stated that he have been running the unit for around three months.

A case was registered against the two persons for operating the unit without permission, and further investigation is underway. Officials said the seized food products and other materials were taken into custody during the raid. The action followed information received about preparation of khoa and curd without the required permission at the premises.

The seized products were found without details such as labels and expiry dates. Further action in the case will be taken as part of the investigation.
