Former Los Angeles Rams offensive lineman eligible for 2027 Hall of Fame class

The class of 2026 has officially been inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame. Which only means it’s time to look ahead at who will be in the class of 2027.

The class of 2027 is loaded with top talent, as Cam Newton, Antonio Brown, Ben Roethlisberger, Adrian Peterson, and former Los Angeles Rams offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth will be eligible to be enshrined in NFL immortality.

Whitworth spent the last five years of his NFL career with the Rams, after spending the first 11 years of his career with the Cincinnati Bengals, when he was selected by them in the second round of the 2006 NFL Draft, out of LSU.

In his 17-year career, he was known as one of the best left tackles in the league, as he was selected to 4 Pro Bowls and was a two-time first-team All-Pro in 2015 and 2017.

Whitworth was a core player and fan favorite during his time with the Bengals, as he helped the team reach the playoffs six times during his tenure. In 2014, he had a perfect season for an offensive lineman, as he did not allow a single sack.

In 2017, Whitworth signed with the Rams during free agency and played a key part in helping the team reach the Super Bowl the following year.

The Rams ended up losing Super Bowl 53 to the New England Patriots, but in Whitworth’s final year in 2021, he got to retire on top of the world as the Rams went on to defeat his former team in the Super Bowl, held in Los Angeles, CA.

Aside from winning the Super Bowl, that year was a special time for Whitworth, as he was crowned the NFL’s Walter Payton Man of the Year winner for his work with schools in the greater Los Angeles community.
