Hyderabad: BRS leader and former Narsampet MLA Peddi Sudarshan Reddy passed away at 12:50 a.m. on Thursday night while undergoing treatment at Yashoda Hospital in Secunderabad, hospital doctors confirmed.
Sudarshan Reddy suffered severe chest pain on the morning of July 26 and was rushed to a private hospital in Hanamkonda, where doctors diagnosed him with cardiac arrest. Medical teams performed CPR nine times over the course of nearly an hour before restoring some cardiac activity. He was later shifted to Yashoda Hospital in Secunderabad for advanced treatment.
He remained on ventilator support throughout his treatment. Doctors said he never regained consciousness and showed no neurological response due to prolonged oxygen deprivation. ECG, brain MRA, and Transcranial Doppler (TCD) tests indicated significant brain damage caused by a lack of oxygen.
After battling for five days, Peddi Sudarshan Reddy breathed his last late on Friday. His demise has cast a pall of gloom among BRS leaders, party workers, and supporters.
