Now, according to federal court filings obtained by PEOPLE, Kyrsten testified on July 31, 2026, that she had been intimate with him several times. Kyrsten didn’t deny having an affair with her then-married bodyguard but argued that since the affair didn’t happen anywhere in Northern California, she shouldn’t be sued under the state’s homewrecker laws.
To add, Matthew’s ex-wife, Heather, claimed that Kyrsten ‘willfully and intentionally’ seduced her ex-husband of 14 years, which led their marriage to fall apart. According to PEOPLE, the transcript featured Kyrsten saying their first encounter took place in 2024, when they were staying in an Airbnb. Describing the first time she got intimate with her then-married bodyguard, Kyrsten reportedly said:
“We were staying at an Airbnb in Napa, Calif. We were outside. Matt kissed me. We went inside and had sex.”
The affair continued in the months that followed, when the duo was on a trip during CNN anchor Jessica Dean’s wedding. According to Kyrsten, while she and Matthew were staying in separate places, they got intimate in her hotel room.
In the documents, Kyrsten revealed that she had been intimate with Matthew in the following months, including July, August, and October of that year. She further admitted that she was well aware that Matthew was married and had three kids. Matthew has since separated from his wife, and, according to the court documents, he moved out of the home they shared in October 2024.

In response, Kyrsten stated that she couldn’t recall the same snap that was referred to; however, she admitted to having conversed with Matthew about sports via text.
She reportedly sent another message to Matthew, stating that she was putting her hand on her heart and claiming she missed him. During the deposition, she was asked whether she understood how it would make a wife concerned about who her husband is getting such messages from; she replied with a ‘yes’.
