EXCLUSIVE: Freddy Brazier reveals how he and his ex-girlfriend Holly Swinburn, who share daughter Isla Jade, are navigating life after their split and becoming parents
Freddy Brazier has opened up about his relationship with ex Holly after they became parents. It was reported in May that the pair had split – again.
The model and aspiring TV star, and his on-off girlfriend, Holly Swinburn, 22, welcomed their daughter, Isla Jade, in March this year, after rekindling their relationship following a previous split.
But Freddy, 21, and Holly have endured a turbulent relationship and just weeks after they welcomed Isla Jade, he allegedly ended things with Holly following a row over his nan, Jackiey Budden. Now opening up on where they stand, Freddy told the Mirror they they “aren’t talking right now.”
“Yeah, Holly and I aren’t talking right now. We’re not speaking at the moment,” he said. “There’s no bad blood at all, I just need some space, we both need space. I can’t speak for Holly, but I just need to work on myself right now.”
The now-former couple met on TikTok in June last year, and two months later, they announced they were expecting their daughter. But just months later, in November, they split after Freddy allegedly partied with girls at Holly’s home while she was on holiday.
Fast forward to earlier this year, Freddy said he would be the “best dad he can be”. But he later moved out of his and Holly’s home and jetted to Gran Canaria after Jackiey, Freddy’s maternal grandmother, was denied permission to meet Isla Jade.
Holly was said to have become concerned over Jackiey’s lifestyle and claimed that she was a bad influence on young Freddy. “He has packed his bags and disappeared without telling Holly where he is,” a source said at the time.
They added to The Sun: “Holly loves Isla Jade and is taking motherhood really seriously but Freddy is the not same – despite all the ‘happy family pictures’ they posted together on social media.”
But the couple appeared to be back together not long after and were seen out and about in Essex with their newborn daughter, stopping to give her a feed. However, their relationship had always been surrounded by negativity, with Jackiey previously pushing for a paternity test, which confirmed Freddy was Isla Jade’s father.
Speaking about mum Jade recently, he said that Mother’s Day is a difficult time of year for him as he wishes he had the ability to share the day with Jade. He told The Sun: “I’ve often looked at people out with their mums on Mother’s Day and thought, ‘You’re so lucky . . . I wish I could have a special day with my mum’. But now, I’ll be able to make new memories with my baby daughter.”
Freddy was raised by his father along with his brother Bobby, following the death of Big Brother star Jade on Mothers’ Day in 2009 from terminal cervical cancer when she was 27. He said recently that he had been talking to his mum about becoming a father, saying: said: “I told her what was going on with the baby and how I am feeling, but sometimes I struggle talking to a headstone.”
