‘From’ Season 4 Episode 10 Ending Explained, ‘Sophia’ Unmasked And The Collapse Of Bottle Tree

The concept has been specifically loved by the audience along with the characters, who have become popular over the years. Following a successful run of three seasons, the fourth season premiered on April 19, 2026, with one episode being released every week to maintain the viewers’ curiosity to watch the next.

‘Sophia’s’ real identity is revealed to everyone

While a lot of interesting things happen in the tenth episode of From Season 4, the biggest surprise arrives with the real identity of ‘Sophia’ being revealed to everyone. It is disclosed that ‘Sophia’ is ‘Man in Yellow,’ the ancient, shapeshifting entity linked to the town’s history of torment. Apart from being a new arrival, she has been creating chaos by staying in the shadows. The reveal also reframes earlier seasons, including the monsters, the cycles, and the failed escapes that trace back to her influence.

‘Sophia’s’ betrayal is clearly witnessed in the end, where she reduces the population of Fromville, proving that she is an executioner. It also confirms that the ‘Man in Yellow’ was never folklore. This means that for ‘Boyd,’ ‘Tabitha,’ and ‘Jade,’ the real enemy was never the night creatures but instead, the architect behind them. ‘Sophia’s’ real identity even sets the conflict for the upcoming season, which is going to be Boy in White vs. ‘Man in Yellow’ or innocence vs. corruption.

Bottle tree and talismans are not useful anymore

‘Jade’ and ‘Tabitha’ aim to use the Bottle Tree for escaping. However, nothing goes as planned because the tree is destroyed, taking away the town’s most consistent symbol of hope and connection between worlds. The destruction also brings its consequences, and a theory now suggests that if the tree is destroyed for some reason, the talismans will also lose their power.

The destruction of the tree and the powerless talismans will allow the monsters to enter anywhere, and the fragile protection that kept the characters alive since the first season won’t work anymore. The finale explores this concept a little bit more, where the red lightning storm erupts from the tunnels, and a visual sign about the town’s rules is broken. Safety is no longer guaranteed for the residents, and the fall of the tree hints that Fromville is entering its endgame, marking the beginning of new horrors.

How are ‘Jade’ and ‘Tabitha’ connected to each other?

The reality behind the close connection between ‘Jade’ and ‘Tabitha’ is also revealed in the tenth episode of From Season 4. The duo has been reincarnated across multiple lifetimes because of the seven sacrificed Ankoui children. ‘Jade’ admits he lied to ‘Tabitha’ about their escape plan, adding guilt to an already devastating revelation. Their shared past explains the visions, the music box, and why they are central to breaking the cycle.

But the cycle brings a different situation. ‘Jim’ dies by the end of the episode, and the same thing happens to ‘Marielle.’ ‘Fatima’ gives birth to ‘Smiley’ and disturbingly calls him “Mother,” ending the difference between humans and monsters. ‘Sophia’s’ actions, the deaths, and the birth of ‘Smiley’ point to the fact that the town feeds on sacrifice. Moreover, the fifth season will force people to choose what or who they are ready to lose.
