Spiritual programmes held during Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations promote unity and devotion among people, said Cyberabad SOT DCP Pulla Shobhan Kumar.
A native of Uppal village in Hanamkonda district, Shobhan Kumar inaugurated a Maha Annadanam organised by the Sri Sitarama Auto Union at the village bus stand on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, he prayed for Lord Ganesha’s blessings on the villagers and wished every family happiness, prosperity and good health. He said the participation of villagers in devotional programmes was encouraging and that such service activities strengthened mutual cooperation and brotherhood.
He appreciated the organisers for conducting the Annadanam and later served food to devotees.
Village sarpanch Rama Nagaraj, deputy sarpanch Siddharth Naveen Kumar, Sampath Rao, Konupula Ramachander, Mondaiah, Mallaiah, Mujeeb Hussain, leaders of various political parties, villagers and devotees attended the programme.
