Hyderabad: The Telangana Government on Wednesday has officially declared September 25, 2026 (Friday) as a public holiday across the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, along with the adjoining Ranga Reddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts, on account of the Ganesh idol immersion procession.
The Hyderabad City Police are geared up for the final immersion day. Speaking to the media on Wednesday, City Commissioner VC Sajjanar said that extensive security arrangements are in place for the Ganesh immersion procession on September 25. Around 20,000 police personnel, 10,000 CCTV cameras and 24 drones will monitor the procession routes. RAF, CRPF, SHE Teams, bomb detection teams, divers and emergency services have also been deployed to ensure a peaceful and smooth conduct of the festival.
