Ganja Cultivation, Sale Busted; OG Kush Worth 36 Lakhs Seized In Separate Cases

Hyderabad: A former software employee, Ch. Shashidhar, was arrested for cultivating ganja plants on the terrace of his house in Gandhinagar in Nacharam. Officials said he developed an addiction that led to job loss and eventually began growing the drug for personal use. A total of 17 ganja plants were seized, some fully grown up to three metres with an estimated yield of nearly 10 kg.

This was among the series of drug busts by Excise officials in Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts.

In a separate case, two BTech students were caught red-handed while allegedly selling ganja in Medipallynagar. Officials seized 480 grams of the contraband from them.

In Musheerabad, excise officials arrested Rahul Singh and seized 1.311 kg of OG Kush worth around Rs 36 lakh. he claimed that the contraband was sourced from Bangkok through another accised Injath Singh, who is in jail.

All accused were booked and handed over to concerned excise stations for further investigation.

Senior officials, including Excise Enforcement Director Shahnawaz Qasim and other officers appreciated the teams for their coordinated action against drug networks.
