The sage green, full-sleeve anarkali showcased intricate gold zardozi embroidery across the bodice and a scooped neckline accented with button detailing along the front. The silhouette flowed into panelled kalis, each embroidered with embroidered and embellished abstract floral spires, rising up from the border. Arch-like designs spotted otherwise in Gothic-style structures, inundated the anarkali kurta. A sheer scallop-hem dupatta with matching embroidery finished the ornate look.
Khan accessorised the ensemble with fine jewellery from Zoya, including a statement necklace centred around an eight-carat serene-cut blue topaz surrounded by over 300 diamonds, paired with matching topaz-and-diamond studs. A diamond bangle and a stack of diamond rings completed the look. Defined lashes and winged eyeliner were the hero of her beauty look while the rest of the makeup remained natural with the exception of the holographic gold nails. Her hair was styled in loose, side-parted curls.
From Vogue‘s fashion desk:
“A heavily-embroidered anarkali like this is perfect as a wedding guest look, too. One could take the contemporary jewellery route such as Gauri Khan or turn to an Indian design featuring polki and uncut stones to make look more ceremonial,” says Ashwini Arun Kumar, Vogue India fashion features editor.
