Gemma Atkinson and Gorka Marquez have discussed a reality TV show on their podcast and given their verdict on how they felt one of them would perform if put in that situation
Gemma Atkinson quickly fired back to Gorka Marquez’s suggestion she could be “tempted” by other men.
The Lost in Translation podcast hosts met on the 2017 series of Strictly Come Dancing. The pair were in their own relationships at the time but later started dating and Gorka, 35, proposed to Gemma, 31, on Valentine’s Day in 2021. The pair share two children together, Mia and Thiago.
On a recent episode of their podcast, Gorka explained that he’d been watching hit reality show Temptation Island. The series sees unmarried couples travel to a tropical island where their loyalty to their partner is tested.
It was in the context of the premise of this show, the Spanish version of which Gorka said he had been watching, that the couple discussed what would happen if either one of them was on the island.
First, Gemma asked: “Would you trust me on the island, would you think I’d be tempted?”
In response, Gorka replied: “Yes, I think you would tempted, but I think you wouldn’t be bothered.”
Gemma jokingly replied: “I couldn’t be a**** with them. I’d say ‘You are attractive pal, but can you make a Spanish omelette? Do you know what I mean? Do they clean up after themselves?”
Away from discussing dating shows, the pair have also talked about whether they will get married. In another episode of their podcast, Gemma admitted: “I ain’t getting married to him.
“No chance. Everyone I know who has got married has ended up getting divorced, apart from my sister.”
In response, Gorka shared: “I don’t think I want to get married. We are fine like this, we have two children, marriage is just a document, for a legal thing’. You see people together for 15, 20 years, they get married then divorced one year after.”
Whilst it would appear that the pair have no intention to get married, Gemma has said that she did once consider marriage in order to make things less complicated for their two children when it came to their will.
She said: “My mum was saying to me the other day, when it comes to my will, she was saying how much more complicated it is.”
