GHMC Conducts Communicable Disease Awareness Drive at Abids Girls School

Hyderabad:The GHMC’s metropolitan surveillance unit conducted a comprehensive health awareness programme here on Monday, briefing students on hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette, water- and food-borne diseases, dog-bite prevention and management and vector-borne disease prevention.

The programme at the Mahbubia Government Girls High School, Abids, was aimed to educate students on the prevention of communicable diseases.

Students were urged to dedicate 10 minutes every Sunday as ‘Dry Day’ to empty, clean, or cover water-holding containers. The MSU is a specialised public health unit created to contain, prevent diseases and quickly respond to disease outbreaks in the city.
