GHMC Election Officials Receives Training On SIR

HYDERABAD: GHMC election functionaries from all 15 Assembly constituencies of Hyderabad district received training on the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral roll, as the district prepares for voters’ list revision work at the field level from June 15.

The programme was conducted on the instructions of GHMC commissioner R.V. Karnan, who is also the district election officer. Assistant electoral registration officers, Assembly level master trainers, election deputy Tahsildars, election clerks and election operators took part in the training.

B. Chennaiah, state level nodal officer for training, M. Jaya Chandra Reddy, deputy collector in the office of the CEO, Telangana, and K. Chandrakala, additional commissioner (Election), GHMC, trained the officials.

The session dealt with electoral roll revision procedures, verification of voter details, voter data management, documentation requirements and the duties of election officials during SIR. According to GHMC, the focus is on a “transparent and error-free revision exercise.”

The officials who completed the June 12 training will train booth level officers and BLO supervisors from June 15 to June 24. GHMC said these sessions will prepare field staff for SIR-2026 in Hyderabad district as per Election Commission guidelines.
