HYDERABAD: The GHMC, in collaboration with the College of Veterinary Science, Rajendranagar, organised a pet adoption drive at the Veterinary Clinical Complex, focusing on indie puppies. Six puppies were adopted, 33 pets were registered on‑site for official documentation and future health monitoring, and 81 anti‑rabies vaccinations were administered.

The event was held to mark World Veterinary Day, highlighting the role of veterinarians in animal health, zoonotic‑disease control and community welfare. It also aligns with GHMC’s CURE programme and the State’s Praja Palana – Pragathi Pranalika vision, which emphasise people‑centric, time‑bound and outcome‑driven urban development.

GHMC officials said the drive aimed to promote responsible pet ownership, support street‑dog rehabilitation through adoption, and strengthen rabies‑preventive measures in the city.
