
Hyderabad: The Irrigation department officials issued a third warning signal as Godavari River rose to 55 feet at Bhadrachalam following heavy inflows.
The river is receiving heavy inflows due to rains in upper riparian areas. The Revenue authorities sounded the third danger signal as the river touched 55 feet at the temple town. The bathing ghats at Parnasala were inundated due to rising water levels.
Owing to heavy inflows, the commuting between Dhummugudem and Bhadrachalam and Bhadrachalam to Odisha was affected.
The local authorities have been advised to take necessary action. Officials have been directed to move people from low-lying areas to rehabilitation centres and people have been requested to follow the advice and instructions of the district administration.
The people should not leave their houses and should call the control room for emergency services, officials said.
