Lara joined Channel 4’s Gogglebox last year and it turns out she has a rather famous sibling

Gogglebox’s Lara has become a firm favourite with fans since joining the show – but what do we know about her life?

Since the Channel 4 programme began way back in 2013, it has introduced us to several iconic families up and down the country: from Giles Wood and Mary Killen in Wiltshire to the Siddiqui clan in Derby.

And last year, Gogglebox welcomed new faces to its cast including Jake and Calum from Glasgow, the Gordon family from Surrey and married couple Andrew and Alfie from the Cotswolds.

Also, mother-and-daughter-in-law team Sara and Lara from Yorkshire made their debut too – and the pair quickly became a hit with fans thanks to their witty remarks and commentary on the latest bits of telly.

But it turns out Lara’s little brother is none other than TV star and adventurer Bear Grylls, best known for shows like Man Vs. Wild and Running Wild with Bear Grylls.

What’s more, it was Lara, who works in PR, who gave Bear his name. He told The Guardian: “I was christened Edward. My sister gave me the name Bear when I was a week old and it has stuck.”

Proving she’s just as adventurous as her TV star brother, in 2021, Lara took part in an open-air ice-swimming challenge for charity, which raised £23,000 in just 28 days.

She told The York Press: “Bear was hugely supportive over the month. A shared love of ice swimming has been really bonding. My normal job in PR wasn’t quite so exciting to him.

“He was sending me regular messages of encouragement, gave us lots of shout-outs on social media and mentioned my challenge in a few of his recent TV interviews.

Meanwhile reacting to Bear and Gogglebox star Lara being siblings, fans have shared their shock. “Only found out recently she’s Bear Grylls sister,” said one person recently on one of Lara’s Instagram video. Someone else added: “No way. For real?” A third chimed in: “omg really!!!!!”

Away from Gogglebox, Lara is a proud mum to three children Mungo, Bevan, and Tallulah, whom she shares with husband James Fawcett. Sadly, in 2025, Jamws died of a sudden cardiac arrest

“He was very entertaining and very very funny and always made everybody laugh,” Lara sed while leading the tributes to her husband. She added: “He enjoyed a great social life; enjoyed a party, and was always the last to bed.”
