Kakinada: A theft took place at the rented residence of Peddapuram Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) P. Krishnamurthy in Kakinada district after midnight on Saturday.
Krishnamurthy has been staying in a rented house at Ramaraopeta in Peddapuram. According to police, unidentified burglars broke into the house while the RDO’s family was asleep and allegedly stole about 15 tolas of gold jewellery and Rs.70,000 in cash.
On receiving information, DSP Tilak visited the spot and inspected the crime scene. A police team also collected evidence as part of the investigation.
Peddapuram police have registered a case and launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the burglars.
