
Hyderabad:Gold jewellery worth around Rs 6 lakh went missing from a woman’s house in Kushaiguda, with the complainant suspecting a female relative who had visited her home earlier.
According to Jawaharnagar police, the complainant, Swapna, 42, a homemaker and resident of Jammigadda, told police that she wore the jewellery for Varalakshmi Vratam on August 21 and later kept it in a locker box inside a drawer in her master bedroom. She said she last saw the jewellery on the same day.
On September 21, at around 9 pm, she noticed that the jewellery was missing. While searching for her ATM card, she checked the drawer and found that the key to the locker box was missing. She then used a spare key to open the locker and discovered the jewellery was gone.
According to the complaint, on September 7, Pravalika and her husband, Amarender, who are relatives of the complainant, visited her house to discuss a family and property dispute. During the visit, Pravalika allegedly entered and used the complainant’s master bedroom two or three times.
The missing jewellery included an uncut diamond necklace with earrings, a gold long necklace, a gold chain with Lakshmi pendant and black beads, chandbali and green-stone earrings, a Lakshmi kasulaperu set and two pairs of small gold earrings.
The complainant expressed suspicion against Pravalika. Police registered a case and launched an investigation.
