Pudukkottai: The ultimate goal of the government is to make the state entirely child labour-free. To achieve this, the department of labour welfare was conducting continuous inspections and raids, and legal action was being taken against defaulting establishments, according to labour welfare minister J Mohamed Farvas.
He told mediapersons at Pudukkottai on Friday on the sidelines of a self-help group function that public welfare schemes were being implemented across Tamil Nadu for the benefit of the people. How can it be accepted if someone claims that these are being provided only for the sake of the by-elections, he asked.
Will the Opposition parties lay out a red carpet to welcome the ruling party, he added.
They don’t have any content to talk about, which is why they are talking like this, he opined.
Responding to a question about “dissolution of the government” being frequently uttered lately, the minister said they have been doing this right from the very beginning. People know who allied with whom, and the public will take care of it, he remarked.
When asked about former minister Regupathy’s statement that 60 TVK MLAs were dissatisfied, Farvas replied, “Did they come and tell him directly? We will see about all that.”
