The second double-header round of the Premier VRL has concluded, and Sabac is the team most satisfied with its results this weekend. It secured six points over three days by defeating strong opponents.
After a 12:11 victory over Primorac on Friday, Sabac went on to defeat Budva 13:9 in tonight’s fifth-round match.
Early in the second quarter of the match in Sabac, Budva held a two-goal lead (5:3), but Sabac managed to level the score at 5–5. Immediately after the hosts’ fifth goal, Budva player Biljaka received a red card for striking an opponent above the water, resulting in a penalty throw for the hosts and a man-up advantage for the next four minutes. Sabac did not build a significant lead during that period, scoring twice while conceding one goal (7:6). However, two consecutive goals midway through the third quarter gave them a more promising lead for the first time (9:6). The score stood at 10:8 heading into the final quarter. By the midway point of the fourth period, Sabac doubled its lead and secured the points. Ognjen Stojanovic set the final score, 13:9, with four and a half minutes left on the clock. Toholj and Moracanin contributed three goals each to Sabac’s fourth victory of the season.

Novi Beograd secured its fifth consecutive win and now shares the top spot with Radnicki. Novi Beograd sealed its convincing victory over Zemun in the opening 16 minutes, taking a 17:1 lead into halftime. It eased off in the third quarter before returning to a strong rhythm in the final period to defeat Zemun 27:7. Nikola Kojic led the scoring with eight goals.
Partizan had the toughest schedule of all the Premier League teams over the first three rounds. After three consecutive away games, it returned with just one point. Its performances showed that it does not belong at the bottom of the standings, something it confirmed again this weekend. In the final match of the fourth round, it thrashed Zemun 22:6, led by five-goal scorer Andrej Durutovic.

Tonight, Partizan beat Vojvodina 18:12. It took Partizan a little longer to break its opponent’s resistance than in the previous match. Midway through the second quarter, the teams were separated by just one goal, with Partizan leading 6:5. Then the Belgrade side’s attack came to life as a 3:0 run gave it a 9:5 lead. By the end of the third quarter, Partizan had doubled its advantage to 15:7, allowing it to ease off during the final eight minutes. Miljan Djokanovic scored one-third of Partizan’s goals—six from six shots—while Zelic netted five for Vojvodina.
Partizan was officially the home team in both matches, but the clubs swapped home-court duties, so the games were played at the “11. April” pool and in Novi Sad, respectively.
Primorac left no chance to Valis. Deep into the second quarter, the Kotor-based team led 11:2 and maintained its nine-goal advantage until halftime (13:4), before continuing its dominance in the second half. Primorac’s left-handed scorer Djuro Radovic was flawless, scoring seven goals from seven attempts.
