Vijayawada:Chennai-based Green Coke and Energy Private Limited on Wednesday signed a pact with Kakinada SEZ Limited to set up a metallurgical coke plant at a cost of Rs 700 crore in Kakinada SEZ.
The Green Coke and Energy Private Limited managing director Nagarajan and Kakinada SEZ managing director and chief executive officer Ram Reddy signed the memorandum of understanding to set up the plant in 80 acres area of Kakinada SEZ to produce metallurgical coke to be used in production of steel.
The investment is expected to expand the industrial area to Tondangi and Pitapuram in Kakinada district and also to provide employment opportunity locally.
